Do you work in a Trusting Team?

In sports we already know. If you don't have a team, you will not win any games. And with team, I don't know just a group of players. A team is more than just a group of players. It has to be a team: players that know how to play together. Players that are willing to correct an mistake another team player has made, like dropping the ball, or missing a tackle.

But what does such a team look like in business? Not so different. It also means that your colleagues are willing to fix your mistake, that your colleague will answer your phone when you are not at your desk. But for me, that's just a start. For me it means more.

A trusting team is something specific. It means that someone can come to work and say 'I made a mistake', of 'I don't feel I have been trained well enough to do my job.', or 'I'm scared.' or 'I'm having problems at home and it's affecting my work.' or even 'I need help'. And important is they can say these things without being laughed at, or punished. On the contrary, they know that if they say so, someone will come to their aid and help them.

Do you work in a team like that?
